This section is a short overview of the rules for The English Hub. Detailed information can be found by scrolling further down this page. Please take your time to read over the entire part of the server.

The English Hub is a safe place for anyone and everyone from anywhere on the globe. We come together to learn, teach, socialize, and make friends. In this space ensure you fully know your audience as there are so many topics that can be discussed, but just think for a moment is everyone you are with comfortable to discuss this topic?.

  • In public spaces, please use English. It makes it fair for us all to be able to listen and speak together. We understand you may be a beginner and of course we support the tools you need to communicate.
  • Hate speech, abuse, personal attack, discrimination, or trolling towards members is absolutely NOT tolerated here and will result in a ban from the server. Should you the decide to fight back or gang up that could then land you with a ban.
  • Ensure your microphone is working and avoid background noise. Soundboards and voice changers are not welcome here. Have your camera on? Then ensure your are presenting the best version of yourself.
  • We are here to support the members of the server. The moderation team here at The English Hub volunteer there time to work so hard to keep you safe. Should you need assistance then hit
    Any harassment, violent speech, bullying, body-shaming, threats, or bashing of other members is NOT tolerated here and may result in an immediate ban with no appeal. This is not a space for any form of slurs or offensive language. Please be mindful of your speech and keep swearing/cursing to a minimum. Another user being disrespectful to you does not excuse the same behaviour as a response. Two wrongs do not make it right.
  • NSFW content (be that written or via voice) is FORBIDDEN. Keep all the voice and text channels chats PG-13. This also includes the content you stream here. NSFW videos, photos, GIFs, emojis, or inappropriate comments are not allowed.
  • Sexualizing minors is an instant ban.
  • This server is not a space to seek help with your mental health. Refrain from talking about or promoting self-harm or suicide. Should you require support please seek assistance from services in your country.
  • Slander, harassment, doxxing etc. will result in an instant ban. This also extends to any action undertaken outside of Discord either in person or online.
  • No spamming please. This includes repeated sending of emotes, gifs, photos, reactions, links, copypastas, lyrics etc.
  • No begging, self-promotion (free/paid for), advertising, dating requests. online meeting offers, or crypo advice will result in a ban.
  • Server invites are not to be bantered around . Requesting users to join your server, YouTube channels, etc. are not allowed.
  • Refrain from advertising and promoting in your Discord status and about me sections. No direct messages inviting those to your server etc. as this will be a ban.
  • No soliciting for programming or gaming trials. Do not send requests for data or online surveys.
  • Do not ask others to buy you things. examples being Discord Nitro. This also includes direct messages to members asking for Nitro etc.
  • Direct messaging our members aka creeping of sliding into peoples DMs is not allowed – Remember we are not a dating server!
  • Unsolicited direct messages are not permitted to our members. We advise should this happen to you then report to this to the moderation team. Please also block and report the sender.
  • No Discord drama – this is no space to dig up the past with issues with friends or bans from other servers. Being the one perpetuating the Discord drama, again that will land you with a mute or ban.

Server Language This server is for learning English. Please use English in the server as much as you can, you’re free to use any language in ⁠the languages thread ⁠🌍|languages There are voice channels Global where you can use other languages, but in short ALL other public areas are for English only. Fail to speak English and you may be moved along to allow others the space to talk and listen.

Moderation cases When you raise a ticket this can be viewed only by our server moderation team. All moderation information is private. If a member has been muted or banned, we request you do not ask for the individual’s whereabouts or attempt to speak on their behalf in any capacity. Failure to comply may also result in your own mute or ban. Raising tickets about issues other users have raised with the moderation team may also land you with you a mute or ban (there is no need to gang up or fight the moderation team!)

Account presentation Inappropriate profile picture, banner, nickname, status, pronouns, and about me are not permitted. (Examples being, but not limited to NSFW banners or profile pictures containing weapons or violence).

  1. Whilst we support everyone’s choices, this as with all servers on Discord we withhold the right to change your server display name to something more suited to a community server. Where your profile picture, name, and about me is out to provoke others you may be requested to change this.
  2. Voice channels Avoid disruptive behaviour and sounds in voice channels, don’t play loud songs, shout or make any kind of disruptive sounds. Where you wish to play a musical instrument on/off camera, please ask the voice channel if this is ok. No displaying or handling of weapons on camera. We respect that our members have the choice to smoke/vape nicotine or drink alcohol. We ask you please refrain from excessive smoking or drinking on camera. Where the moderation team feels you need a break from the server, for what ever reason we reserve the right to mute or time you out. This will allow you time away from the server to cool off. Note: Drug promotion/drug taking is strictly NOT allowed.
  • We are a learning server. We are not a political server. Whilst we are all affected by different events around the globe this server is not a space for discussion that may cause upset, distress or offence to our members. Examples being, but not limited to undertaking debates relating to vaccines, wars, historic events etc. Spaces within this server may be provided for like minded people to discuss these events in more depth, but again discussions must be respectful.
  • We support those who wish to discuss different topics, however please refrain from using all elements of this server for pushing political topics or a personal agenda with others who may feel uncomfortable.
  • Finally Please do not argue with the moderation team – they all volunteer their time and are here with you to learn and to help keep the server safe and is much order as possible. Should you be asked to move the topic on please respect that request.
  • The moderation team has a role and responsibility to keep this server safe and they ultimately they have the final say.
  • Should you feel like any moderation member is abusing their powers here, you can report them using report-help please provide all evidence and as much information with regards to the abuse and the members of the senior server team will review. Sadly for making false claims or bullying a moderator will ultimately land you with a server ban.
